Henlee's Simple Six

Henlee turns six months old this week. Totally unbelievable. I have really tried to keep her tiny. She was wearing #2 diapers and I looked at the #3 diapers and thought, "there is no way my tiny little baby can fit in that thing. It will absolutely swallow her." Guess what? It fits perfectly. I also kept squeezing her into some of her 3-6 month clothes, once again thinking that there is no way my baby could be growing so much that she would need the 6-9 month clothes. Wrong again. She now has two teeth and has developed more of her personality. She arches her back and tries to wriggle out of her carseat when I am putting her in. Also if you are holding her and not meeting her needs fast enough, she will do the same thing. Some of her favorite things right now are:
1. Vegetables - she loves them.
2. Her sister making funny noises (like burping). Henlee giggles and giggles at her.
3. Gus our dog - if she could just get a hold of him she would slurp him good.
4. Riding in her stroller.
5. Swimming
6. And of course her Mom. (This is always going to be a favorite because this is my blog. LOL).

Daddy

"Daddy!" I love to hear Reagan say this. It just has a special ring to it and loaded with love. I never imagined that when Darrell and I had a family that 1.) we would have girls, and 2.) that he would be such a great Dad. When I was pregnant with Henlee, people would always say, "Doesn't Darrell want a boy?" His answer always was, "Girls can do just as much as boys." It is both of our opinions that God blesses us with what he thinks is best for us. He knew that DW needed little girls to soften his heart. When I see Darrell with his girls, it makes my heart do backflips.

This is Reagan with her Daddy's hat on sitting on our porch waiting for her Daddy to come home.

Birthday, swinning, and a tooth

Reagan finally came home after two weeks at my sister's. We are pretty boring people now. When the neighbor girls are your good friends and they have a pool, your aunt takes you to Main Event, Six Flags, and to the movies, how is there any time to get bored. She hasn't even unpacked her bags. She thinks she will be going back soon.

Henlee went swimming for the first time on Saturday. SHE LOVES THE WATER. She definitely takes after her Mom and sister. We would be in the water 24/7 if we didn't have to work, clean house, wash clothes, and we had our own pool. Thanks Gina for letting us swim - We'll be back.
Friday was my 21st (or something like that) burthday and my husband planned a trip with our good friends - Becky and David - to the Horny Toad in Cranfills Gap. This was my second trip there, but the other three have been there many times during the last year while I was pregnant. We had a wonderful time and I was pleasantly suprised that ol' DW made these plans well in advance. Thanks DW, Becky, and David. I had a wonderful Birthday.
On another note, Henlee has her first tooth. We didn't even know it. She wasn't fussy, run fever, wake up during the night, or have swollen gums. It just appeared. Thank goodness she was number 2 and took 7 years to get here, otherwise, I might have a house full of kids.

Hope, Courage, Bravery, Endurance

This is my cousin Debra. She is the oldest of the Wenzel cousins and I am the youngest of the first cousins. She is currently battling breast cancer and is undergoing chemo. She has her last treatment this weekend and then will start radiation. This has been very demanding physically and emotionally on her not to mention how it has effected her family who has always looked to her for strength. Debra holds a special place in our family and we pray daily for God to grant her Hope, Courage, Bravery, and Endurance. I will wear my pink bracelet as a sign of my encouragement and prayers for you Debra. We love you and pray for you daily.

Graduation and Family

On Saturday, my Mom, my sister, my niece, myself, and Reagan and Henlee headed to Denton to celebrate my counsin Kate's graduation. This is my Mom's side of the family - better known as the Wenzel side. There is close to 50 of us when we are all together. We always have a very good time. I can't recall a time that I have never wanted to go or have wanted to leave early from a family gathering. This is a picture of my Mom and my aunts and uncles.

I love this picture of all us "girls". Usually Bryce is with us but he was on the lake with his best bud, Jake.
Here is the graduation girl, Kate, on the left with her sister Krysta. Krysta recently got engaged and we are SOOO excited. If you have ever been to a Wenzel wedding, you know we all enjoy ourselves immensely.

Congatulations Kate. We are very proud of you and glad you gave us a reason to have a party and get together again.

Friday Night Racing

Friday night the Craftsman Truck series was racing at TMS (Texas Motor Speedway) and since we have season tickets, Darrell and I took Reagan and my niece, Rylee. My brother and his family were given tickets and met us there. We had a great time. Ron Hornaday was able to hold on for the win ( he beat Kyle Busch) and DW was excited.
